ABOUT

ABOUT

Hillside is a splendid Georgian house built in early 1800’s. This unique house has a wealth of period features and is full of architectural character.

Originally called Hill House circa 1830 it became a post office and then a bank around the 1870's before returning to being a family home. The house exudes period charm and luxury and we hope our guests get the same feeling with every visit.

Along with its' newest addition Hillside Lodge, a renovated coach house, they nestle in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in the heart of the picturesque village of Rostrevor.

It is only a few minutes from the beach or Kilbroney Park making it the perfect starting point for many adventures such as walks for all ages and abilities, fun on Carlingford Lough or exploring the local area with it's abundance of history and culture such as Cloughmor Stone that was thrown across the lough by the giant Finn McCool, The Fairy Glen where if you're lucky you will see the fairies dancing at night or indeed Narnia as it was based on a snowy Rostrevor by its' author C.S. Lewis.

Rostrevor also boasts a plethora of cafes, restaurants and bars for you to relax and unwind, all within a two minute walk. There are also local golf clubs, adventure companies and mountain biking to cater for the thrill seekers among you.
